AP RESIDENCE
In the sunlit, tropical city of Singapore, boutique design firm millihaus designed a luxury apartment with a distinguishing concept: one that encapsulates the Japanese autumn season. The 3-bedroom 2,260 sq ft apartment, situated in Singapore’s prime Orchard Road district, offers a respite, employing its seasonal inspiration to create a sense of tranquility.
In crafting a meditative space, the design team introduced a new threshold comprised of full-height timber-cladded walls and sliding doors, making the entry foyer a quiet transition space between the home and outside. This threshold spans the entire length of the apartment, creating a continuous timber backdrop for the living and dining areas. Full-height glazing on the facade opposite provides panoramic views of the cityscape, from the privileged perspective of the 33rd floor.
In the dining area, a custom Brazilian Arabescato marble top dining table is flanked by American black walnut Elliot Dining Chairs designed by Jason Miller and crafted by De La Espada. The legs of the dining chairs, recalling the shape of chopsticks, are a playful nod to the traditional Japanese dinnerware on the table.
